Fleet Farm advances plans for new Kenosha County store

Category: Uncategorized

Fleet Farm has committed to its plans to build a new store in Kenosha County, buying the 29 acres for that project for $4.5 million this month.

The project was approved last year for the site at 7500 125th Ave. in Bristol, just west of the Interstate 94 interchange with Highway 50. Fleet Farm Group LLC executive vice president Frank Steeves in a Friday email confirmed the retailer is “committed to the Bristol location” but hasn’t yet set a timeline to build and open the store.

The Appleton-based chain has five stores in southeast Wisconsin, but its closest to Kenosha are in Muskego and Delavan. It also does not have any locations in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Plans Bristol officials reviewed last year called for a 137,000-square-foot store with a neighboring gas station. That’s the same size as the Fleet Farm in Muskego, the most recent Fleet Farm built in the region. As of late November, Fleet Farm had 49 Midwest stores.

An affiliate of Kenosha-based Bear Real Estate sold the Bristol property to Fleet Farm, according to state records.
