Starbucks eyes new location in Kenosha

Category: Uncategorized

Starbucks has proposed converting a former bank with a drive-thru in Kenosha into a new cafe.

The proposed site at 6906 Green Bay Road was formerly occupied by North Shore Bank. It would be part of the Southport Plaza, city documents note, with a total square footage of 4,243.

A public hearing was held recently to address a conditional use permit amendment for a modification to the building’s drive-thru. Starbucks has requested to modify the drive-thru to accommodate the cafe’s needs and to remove a canopy over multiple lanes previously used for banking, according to city documents.

The conditional use permit is expected to come back to the city’s Plan Commission for final review on Sept. 19, according to Rich Schroeder, deputy director for city development in Kenosha.
