Kenosha
I grew up in Southern Indiana and went to college at Purdue University where I got my bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Food Science. I worked for Hormel Foods for a bit as an Associate Maintenance Engineer after college in Iowa, but decided I wanted to go into Research and Development (R&D). I found a job posting at Puratos Chocolate here in Kenosha and the rest is history!
I have lived in the area for about 3 years now, working as an R&D Process Specialist for chocolate – a pretty sweet gig! When I’m not working, I enjoy going out with friends to the Harbor Market, the Beer Garden at Petrified Springs, or the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets. FLIK, Future Leaders in Kenosha, is an organization that has helped me network in the area, and I recommend it for anyone looking to meet other young professionals in town!

- Favorite place to be creative? Lemon Street Art Gallery is my favorite place to be creative! A group of friends and I go there whenever we can to do pottery in the studio. The staff and other artists there are so friendly and always willing to help you out if you hit a creative block!
- Why did you move to Kenosha? I moved to Kenosha for work, but I have stayed due to the wonderful people that I have met upon arriving! The traffic isn’t that bad to get around town and being right on the highway is so convenient for day trips to Chicago and Milwaukee for events and concerts!
- Favorite winter activity? Winter is my favorite season, and I absolutely love the Snow Daze Festival in Downtown Kenosha! Seeing all the ice sculptures is such a fun winter activity to do with friends and family.
