Pleasant Prairie breaks ground on multi-family housing communities

Category: Uncategorized

The village and a Chicago-based development company broke ground Tuesday on what may become one of the largest multi-family housing complexes in Kenosha County.

Developers Rob and Larry Bond, president and chairman of the Bond Companies, joined Village Board President David Klimisch in ceremonies Tuesday. They kicked off the first of two phases of the 710-unit upscale Inspire Prairie Springs apartments to be housed within eight buildings.

“Your long-term investment in Pleasant Prairie is more than just a business deal. This is a true partnership, built on mutual trust and a shared belief in the future of this community,” Klimisch said said of the Bond Company officials.

“Together, we’re not just constructing eight buildings … We’re working to create a vibrant neighborhood that will anchor Pleasant Prairie’s future growth and prosperity,” he said.

The apartments — projected to have floor plans that range in size from 500 to 1,405 square feet — are planned for 66.2 acres at the southeast corner of 110th Street and 116th Avenue.

The new development is situated south of Breeze Terrace Apartments and east of Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets.

“It’s more than just housing. It’s a commitment to connection, to quality of life and a lasting value,” Klimisch said.

The development at full build-out is expected to add $150 million to the village’s tax base.
